Swim in from the south and wade in the northeastern corner until the Hand icon appears. Accessible from the southwest or northeast by a trail that skirts around the spot. In the opening between two mountains overlooking the lake. On the precipice overlooking the northern pier, by a wrecked car and a dead tree sticking out towards the lake. The map makes it look as though it is adjacent to the Safe House in fact, they are separated by a mountain spur, and the shack is on a somewhat higher ground. Behind the Weapon Shop, in a boarded-up niche in the rocks. Get on the crate in front of the bus from there, jump onto the bus's cab and then onto its roof. LEBOA-SAKO: NORTH ( See Map - hold CTRL when clicking to permit new window) Jackal Tape: On the bench by the shacks. On the hill by the river, near the southern bridge support. Get on the roof of the shed using the ramp on its southern side and jump down a suitable hole in the roof. On top of the boxcar that is almost entirely inside the maintenance shed. Inside the boarded-up (at least until fighting starts) enclosure of the storage shed that houses log piles and tires. Reachable by the well-tread path that branches off to the right of the main road if you are coming from Cattle Xing. On the sofa outside the shack in the mountains. Inside the former office building of the gas station, in the boarded-up room. In the shack in the middle of the valley. Alternatively, steal a cargo truck from either the PetroSahel compound or the North Railyard, park it along the western side of the rock on the sandy outcrop (to maximize elevation) and use it as a jumping platform. Approach the glider from the north and steer towards the desert, bearing slightly right. There is a hang glider perched on the cliff towering over the #4 location. Search around until you see the Hand icon. By the western side of the tallest rock in the middle of the pond, on the roof of a submerged car. On the southwestern edge of the Guard Post, on some rocks at the foot of the cliffs. On top of the raised observation platform. It is all the way uphill if approaching from the south. By the tallest tree among the accumulation of big rocks. At the foot of the baobab surrounded by rocks. Make a running jump from the handrail on top of the tank. On the roof of the boxcar next to the middle storage tank. LEBOA-SAKO: NORTHWEST ( See Map - hold CTRL when clicking to permit new window) Jackal Tape: On the hilltop observation deck, on a crate. Whenever boarded-up access points are mentioned, they can be breached by explosives or (not always) with firearms or machete. Perhaps your jumping prowess is also influenced by the weight of the character you have chosen to play and the weapons you are carrying or holding. This guide was written for the PC version of the game, and perhaps I had missed specific directions in the tutorial, but I found jumping in Far Cry 2 rather a chore. Locating certain Diamond Briefcases requires jumps to be performed. This makes monitoring your briefcase-collecting progress complicated, as the game menu gives you the total number of diamonds obtained thus far, and it is only at the point of discovery that you are informed that you have found the umpteenth Diamond Briefcase out of the 221 available. In a similar vein, the player obtains diamonds not only by finding Diamond Briefcases but also by completing mercenary-type missions. It is over and above the number of such tapes that the player can find on his/her own. The first Jackal Tape is given to the player by a game character and is assigned the number 0 in the game. They are all found on the "Leboa-Sako: Center" map, and the explanation is provided in the related narrative. I have also added red lozenge icons for the first Diamond Briefcase found by the player in the game. I have also added Diamond Briefcase icons in the few instances where briefcases are found too close to icon-worthy locations (i.e., Bus Stations, Safe Houses and Guard Posts) for their discovery to be properly acknowledged on the corresponding map-because the icon for a particular location is too large and absorbs the lozenge icon. Obviously, the crude red-and-white labels have been added by me. In the game, Diamond Briefcase icons appear only on medium-scale, sectoral maps. The images that accompany the narrative parts below are screenshots of in- game maps taken at an advanced stage of the storyline (thus some icons appear unlocked, with Guard Post icons replaced by supplies icons, while some, notably Underground locations, are not yet visible).
